Emilie rose

Emilie Rose is a fiddle player and teacher based in Northern California, rooted in the traditions of Old Time and Celtic music. She began playing fiddle at age nine and grew up immersed in folk music through Alasdair Fraser’s Sierra Fiddle Camp, developing a lifelong love for traditional music and dance.

A Berklee College of Music graduate, Emilie has toured nationally and internationally as half of the acclaimed duo Two Runner. Now based in Nevada City, CA, she focuses on teaching, community music-making, and producing joyful square dances—carrying folk traditions forward while nurturing the next generation of musicians.

Janapriyan levine

Janapriyan’s first stage was the New York City subway system where he would busk for change. Two takeaways: wear a suit and play on Fridays for bigger tips. He played guitar for cancer patients in treatment, taught hip-hop production in New Mexico’s juvenile justice system, ran the guitar and rock band programs at the Nevada City School of the Arts, and collaborates with singers across South Asia and the diaspora. His whimsical music videos have been featured on CandyRat Records. He helped build a 16,000 song library of original music for Meta and has been streamed over 2 million times on Spotify. Many of his trending songs are used on social media to support visual content from around the world. He is currently writing what he calls "his best songs yet."

He teaches, experiments, occasionally goes viral with musical oddities, and once built a chicken-operated xylophone tuned to an Indian monsoon raga in attempt to empower the chickens to make it rain. No luck yet.

Sam Devine

Sam Devine has a broad musical background initially inspired by Irish folk music. For years, he played upright bass with the Cafe Van Kleef house jazz band, and has toured with The Green Ribbon Band, Tracorum, and Terese Genecco. He earned a bachelors degree from San Francisco State University where he studied jazz with musician Marcus Shelby and classical technique with SF Opera bassist Shinji Eshima.

Sam has been with Whole Music Camp as a teacher since its inception in 2018. In addition to his musical pursuits, Sam is an accomplished journalist, welder, and instructor in motorcycling and kitesurfing. Lately, he has returned to playing out on the acoustic guitar, reconnecting with the folk traditions that first drew him to music.
